To Lego or to Mixels? That is the question…

If you want to understand which toys are trendy for school kids ask your children. This is exactly what I recently did with a new Lego mini figures series i.e. new constructible collectibles linked to a TV programme, which puzzled me a bit initially until I read what my 7 year old son wrote about them.

It’s here for you to read. It makes sense and it is only fair to leave this review to him as he can totally understand what this new range is all about. Click on the image to view it in a bigger format. His review is quite specific and kids would perfectly relate to what he’s saying here. 🙂 Have fun!

Officially LEGO Mixels series one are nine weird mini characters in the three tribes: Infernites, Cragsters and Electroids – each with their own ways of getting rid of the Nixels!

Living in the magma wastelands near the planet’s core, the red-hot tribe of Infernites are kind of heroic, kind of bumbling… and really handy for a barbecue. There are three quirky tribes to collect in LEGO® Mixels™ Series 1, which premiered on Cartoon Network UK on 15 February 2014.

FLAIN (RRP: £3.00) is the adventurous leader. Known as “the smart one” to friends because this Infernite can spell… but beware! If FLAIN thinks too hard that massive brain will soon catch fire!

VULK (RRP: £3.00) is one-eyed and the strong but dim-witted member of the red-hot tribe of Infernites which live in the magma wastelands near the planet’s core. The scorching-hot hands of VULK can melt escape routes through solid rock and fend off Nixels… just stay clear of this loyal and goofy Mixel’s super-hot high-fives!

ZORCH (RRP: £3.00) is the speediest member of the red-hot tribe of Infernites that live amid the lava near the planet’s core. When ZORCH is not playing pranks, the fiery jets from this cheeky Mixel’s backside leave Nixels standing in a cloud of smoke!

With each model featuring up to 70 pieces of LEGO® – including brand new elements such as eyes, teeth and ball joints – you can get super creative by mixing and matching your models to create hilarious new characters! The new figures will be available in all good retailers from 1st March 2014.
