I know it’s hard when you are in a difficult situation, but if something doesn’t go your way, think of it as a challenge to fix, accept, re-define, or learn from the event.

We have so many common sayings regarding how to handle life challenges.  Why we keep saying them is because they actually work.

You need to remember that it isn’t the event that was bad, it’s your perception and thoughts about the event.  I find the expression, when faced with a hard choice, “take a step back before making a decision” becoming increasingly more helpful and beneficial before making a choice or saying something (verbal or written).

When you are in a heightened state, that first impulse is to react quickly.  That isn’t always the best solution.  There are times when a little time and distance help you focus on the situation and best way forward.  “Pause for thought” – another wise sayings and advice.

And two more saying that I value to help me with decisions are “What would _____ tell me to do” and “trust your gut”.
