Christmas in London: Christmas at Kew 2022 review

London Mums Magazine was invited to Christmas at Kew, our evening was packed with magic!

What a glorious treat! The Kew Gardens 10th anniversary light trail is spectacular. Individual creative light installations are linked by clever illumination of bushes and trees. The trail is punctuated at intervals by tastefully designed food and drink huts with something for everybody: hot chocolate to mulled wine; Churros to hot dogs. The staff were friendly, cheerful and efficient but unobtrusive.

Of particular note were the light installations choreographed to music and the exceptional Custom Neon Signs. The Cathedral arch was simply beautiful. The 12 days of Christmas with fun, reed sculptures was memorable. The old oak tree was beautifully lit. On the lake, the black and white projection was dazzling; but breathtakingly beautiful and mesmerising was the water ‘ballet’ choreographed to the ‘Frozen’ theme. It was created with fountains, lights and flaming torches. The fountains became the dancers swirling and twirling in unison with the music. It was hard to leave even after the third time through. My favourite was the luminous poppies, you have to be there as this trail gives you goosebumps.
