There’s no doubt about the power of mums as big spenders as well as decision makers when it comes to household and family products. That’s why mums are at the core of the selection process for the products nominated for the prestigious Product of the Year Awards. And that’s why for the last five years I have been part of the judging team involved in selecting the products that are put forward to the public for voting. The Product of the Year Awards 2016 took place this January and was even better than previous years. The venue was the majestic Hilton Park Lane Hotel and the entertainment was led by comedian Rory Bremner – particularly famous for his Tony Blair impersonation – and by X-Factor girl band 4th Impact.

My favourite winning products include:
Tetley Green Tea – Lemon and Honey flavour
Activia layered yogurth – prune flavour
