London Mums Tried & Tested: Panda London’s Award-Winning Kids’ Essentials

Parenting is messy, beautiful, and sometimes chaotic – which is exactly why we love finding products that make everyday life that bit smoother. Panda London’s award-winning children’s range combines smart design with sustainable, ultra-comfy materials. We handed a selection of their bestsellers to our London Mums reviewers to see how they held up in real homes, with real kids – and the results were genuinely impressive.

Bamboo Mattress Protector – Cotbed Size (140 x 70 x 15cm)

Reviewed by Laura, mum of two in Wandsworth – verdict 5/5

“Let’s be honest – mattress protectors aren’t exactly glamorous, but this one deserves a shoutout. It’s honestly the best I’ve ever used. My youngest has just transitioned from cot to cotbed, and we’ve had a few night-time leaks (especially during potty training setbacks). I expected the usual crinkly, plastic-feeling protector, but Panda’s version is whisper-quiet and completely undetectable under the fitted sheet.

It’s slim but super effective – not a single drop got through during one particularly dramatic 2am accident. Plus, it’s breathable, soft to touch, and doesn’t trap heat, so my little one sleeps through without overheating. I also appreciate how it’s hypoallergenic – both my kids have eczema-prone skin, and this gave me real peace of mind. At £30, it’s more than high-street versions, but it feels like a long-term investment. And frankly, anything that reduces laundry stress is worth it in my book!”

Baby Bamboo Muslin Squares – Set of Three

Reviewed by Amina, first-time mum in Hackney – verdict 4½

“If you’ve got a baby, you already know there’s no such thing as too many muslins – but these ones from Panda are in a class of their own. From the moment I unboxed them, I could tell they were special. The fabric is incredibly soft – almost silky – and much more absorbent than any of my cotton ones.

What I didn’t expect was how multi-functional they’d become: I use them for everything. They’re burp cloths, impromptu bibs, sun shields, changing mats, comforters… My daughter even cuddles one to sleep. I love that they’re naturally antibacterial and dry quickly – because let’s be honest, I wash muslins almost daily. The patterns are stylish but still sweet – no garish colours or cartoon animals, which I really appreciated. At £24 for three, they’re not the cheapest, but the quality is leagues above others I’ve bought. A perfect baby shower gift too.”

Kids’ Bamboo Bath Towel (90 x 90cm)

Reviewed by Louise, mum of three from Richmond – verdict 5/5

“My daughter is 4 going on 14 – she has strong opinions about clothes, towels, even which bowl her porridge goes in. But she LOVES this towel. It’s got a little hood, which makes her feel cosy and cocooned after bath time, and the bamboo blend is incredibly soft – it’s honestly like wrapping her in a cloud.

I’ve noticed it absorbs water faster than her old towel, which is brilliant when she’s running around half-damp refusing to get dressed. It also dries quicker on the line, which I didn’t expect, and hasn’t lost its softness after multiple washes (unlike her old ones that went stiff and scratchy over time). Yes, at £45 it’s a bit of a splurge, but I’m now thinking of buying another one for my younger son. It really does feel like a luxury product made for everyday life – and I love that it’s naturally antibacterial, too.”
