The first was Robin and his Merry Men released as a silent film in 1908 and the last called Robin Hood starring Taron Egerton and Jamie Foxx is in still in development due to be released this coming September 2018. 74 films were released since 1908 – on average 10 films every decade since the 50s – and 39 Robin Hood – themed episodes on TV. My favourite so far has to be the Disney’s animation featuring a fox as the famous archer from the Sherwood Forest who robbed from the rich and gave to the poor.
Robin Hood is a heroic outlaw in English folklore who, according to legend, was a highly skilled archer and swordsman. Traditionally depicted dressed in Lincoln green. Alongside his band of Merry Men in Sherwood Forest and against the Sheriff of Nottingham, he became a legendary figure.
The story
Robin Hood (Taron Egerton), a war-hardened Crusader, and his Moorish commander (Jamie Foxx) mount an audacious revolt against the corrupt English crown in a thrilling action-adventure packed with gritty battlefield exploits, mind-blowing fight choreography, and a timeless romance.
