The Power of Manifestation Through Thought – more studies and books

As a hypnotherapist, I read everything and anything about the minds. Recently, two books have been written about the power of manifestations: Mind Magic by James Doty and The Neuroscience of Manifesting by Sabrina Brennan.

Manifestation is the process of bringing desires into reality through focused thought, belief, and aligned action. At its core, it’s the idea that our thoughts are not passive but are active forces that shape our lives. When we consistently focus on a goal, believe in it deeply, and feel its presence as though it has already come true, we begin to attract the circumstances, people, and opportunities that align with it.

This isn’t just spiritual — it’s psychological. Our brains filter information based on what we believe is important (through something called the Reticular Activating System), meaning we literally start noticing paths and signs we might have missed before.

The power of manifestation is rooted in clarity, energy, and emotion. A vague wish won’t move the universe, but a clear vision backed by emotion and belief sends a powerful signal. People often misunderstand manifestation as just wishful thinking, but it’s really about reprogramming the subconscious mind, aligning our inner world with our outer goals, and taking inspired action.

Here are three top ways to practice manifestation effectively – I use all three with my clients.

1. Visualisation: This involves vividly imagining your goal as already achieved. The more detailed the imagery — the sights, sounds, feelings, and environment — the better. When practised regularly, visualisation trains your brain to accept the vision as reality, making you more confident and motivated to take action. Elite athletes, successful entrepreneurs, and performers all use visualisation to mentally rehearse their success before it happens. Even if you are not a great visualiser, you can still use your imagination and get a sense of what it feels like.

2. Affirmations: Positive, present-tense statements like “I am confident and successful” or “I attract abundance with ease” help overwrite limiting beliefs and rewire the subconscious mind. Repetition is key — daily affirmations spoken aloud, written down, or even listened to can reshape your mindset and raise your energetic vibration to match what you want.

3. Gratitude Practice: Gratitude is a powerful emotional frequency. When you’re grateful for what you already have and even what you desire (as if it’s already yours), you align with the feeling of abundance. This creates a mental and emotional state that is conducive to receiving more. Keeping a gratitude journal or meditating on things you’re thankful for can significantly boost your manifestation power.

In essence, manifestation isn’t magic — it’s focused thought combined with belief and action. When done consistently, it can transform the way we experience life and open the door to endless possibilities.

I am a believer and if you want to work more on your positive thinking and manifesting your desires and goals – give me a call.
