We caught up with former Scottish Widow and A Place in the Sun presenter Amanda Lamb to ask her about her work with Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity.
Can you tell us a bit about how you heard about Rays of Sunshine?
Well, I first got involved with the charity through a young girl I met on You Deserve This House. Her name is Alice Halstead and she has a rare form of diabetes. Despite herself being very poorly she got involved with Rays of Sunshine and decided to raise as much money as possible for them from her hospital bed. It was through her that I got to meet some of the children that Rays of Sunshine work with.
As a celebrity you must be get asked to support lots of charities. What makes this one so special?
When you work in TV you do get asked to do a lot of charity work. I try to say yes to as many people as possible. I think Rays of Sunshine are really one of the good guys. The wishes they grant for these children give them and their parents memories that last forever.
