BrickLive 20th – 24th August 2022 at Battersea Park

London Mums Magazine is excited to attend BrickLive in August running from 20th – 24th at Battersea Park. BrickLive is an event for Lego enthusiasts it’s an educational fun day out for the family.

This summer, BRICKLIVE is dropping into London’s Battersea Park and bringing ‘real world’ kids play to the last days of the school holidays.  BRICKLIVE opens its doors to primary and pre-schoolers, using amazing brick sculptures, brick-building and play to help young minds enjoy the close of the school holidays, and prepare for the classroom.

BRICKLIVE uses over five million bricks in both sculptures and play. There will be 80 handcrafted life-sized sculptures of favourite characters, iconic wildlife species, fantastical beasts, London landmarks and a deep dive into space history.  Journeying to Battersea Park from Peru is a brick-based model of Paddington™, complete with his blue duffle coat, red hat and marmalade sandwich.

Paddington™ is joined by Aunt Lucy and Uncle Pastuzo. Fans get to discover scene installations inspired by the beloved bear’s adventures, as well as the chance to take selfies and win prizes.

As well as 3D creations, BRICKLIVE’s mission – in a digital age – is to promote physical play by simply getting interlocking bricks into children’s hands.  Popular construction toys have long advocated kinaesthetic and tactile play, and London’s first child-led brick building event is designed to let young imaginations rip – without screens, apps, kits or instruction manuals. Instead, brick-building experts are on hand to support with master classes, different building zones including spaceships, cities, towers and

Minecraft as well as hosting two massive free-style brick pits – each with a quarter of a million bricks. Among other features, visitors will be able to build on a giant, vertical stud covered ‘Graffiti Wall’ to create murals, patterns and even portraits!

Group Director of Live Company Group (LVCG) Nicola Gross said: “Whether our visitors immerse themselves in popular 250,000 brick pits, or admire our world class creations, BRICKLIVE in Battersea Park delivers a physical, interactive and educational experience for children, families, and fans of the beloved plastic brick, a dedicated space to visit, play and enjoy.”

BRICKLIVE runs from 20 to 24 August with tickets purchased online (See Tickets) costing just £20 for a morning or afternoon timed entry slot.  www.brickliveinthepark.com
