Elaine Jacques was born in Winchester, Hampshire, but spent most of her childhood in Spain before returning to Winchester at 18 to study English in college and university. She shares, “I have travelled and lived all over the UK and have been fortunate enough to travel the world and volunteer in animal conservation projects in Africa.”

Elaine’s deep love for animals and her great affection for Monty, her faithful companion, have inspired her to write this joyous book about a very special soul. She says, “I am most grateful for the opportunity to share Monty’s story with the world.”

The Author’s Journey

Elaine shares, “I wasn’t the brightest as a child and struggled with reading and writing. My English teacher took the time to give me one-on-one tuition after class and had me read William Shakespeare’s Sonnet 29. We’d read each line, discuss its meaning, and move on. That poem gave me the confidence and passion for reading and writing.”

Elaine continues, “Following the encouraging reception of my debut book, I am currently contemplating a sequel to Paws for Thought.”

  • “This is one of those books that somehow just makes you feel better about things. As its chapters span the life of Monty and Elaine, you are drawn into their world and naturally want to progress from one chapter to the next. The photos that accompany the text help bring to life their world and provide wonderful little connection points to some of the characters such as Monty’s feline and feathered friends. I suspect this is what makes the difference. – This isn’t fiction, it’s real beings and their story and adventures together in a full and varied life.” – Amazon Customer
