Everyone is aware of the magic number eight when it comes to sleep, and recent research has even linked a regular 10 pm bedtime to lower heart risk. However, in the hustle and bustle of daily life, achieving the elusive ‘perfect night’s sleep’ can be a challenge. This rings especially true for new parents who face up to six years of sleep deprivation, with mothers bearing the brunt of fatigue due to frequent nighttime awakenings.

Prioritising sleep health is crucial, and incorporating essential products into your bedtime routine can make a significant difference. Here’s a guide to achieving restful sleep and battling sleep deprivation, along with recommendations for products that enhance your beauty sleep.

Achieving Restful Sleep

Establishing and maintaining healthy sleep hygiene is key to consistently experiencing a restful night’s sleep, regardless of life stage. Follow these fundamental principles:

  1. Incorporate regular exercise into your routine.
  2. Maintain a consistent sleep schedule.
  3. Engage in relaxation methods, such as yoga or meditation using apps like ‘Calm.’
  4. Reserve your bed solely for sleep.
  5. Limit or avoid caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol.
  6. Refrain from napping after 3 pm.

As a relaxation technique, try the A-Z topic game — pick a category and find items from A to Z. You might find yourself nodding off before reaching Z!
