P is for Paris is the latest richly illustrated book by award-winning graphic artist Paul Thurlby, whom I admire for his retro looking drawings of beautiful cities in the world. This stunning book is not just for kids but deserves a place on every coffee table along with L is for London and NY is for New York. I am an admirer of Paul Thurlby’s work and I have always kept his books in a special shelf away from the other kids’ books after reading them with my son Diego.
All together these three titles make a lovely collection of travel – art books and I would love to get prints of this artwork to hang on my walls.
P is for Paris is published by Hodder Children’s Books in Hardback for £16.99. In this book Paul Thurlby embarks on an alphabetical tour of Paris! Through his eyes and his vintage looking drawings the readers get to see the sights of Paris as never before while he visits the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and the Louvre, as well as discovering some lesser known gems.
Paul Thurlby has been a full-time illustrator since 2006. He has worked in advertising, editorial and T-shirt design, as well as publishing. His first book, Alphabet, won the Bologna Ragazzi Opera Prima award. His inspiration comes from mid-century design and illustration. His style is retro-modern, with retro aesthetics and modern subject matter.
