Best Budget Holidays for Summer 2017

We all know that summer in the UK can be rather unpredictable, with sporadic days of bright sunshine, grey clouds and miserable showers. Whilst we love the great British summer and all the delights it brings, jetting off abroad for one or two weeks to places that are HOT HOT HOT in June for a good old summer holiday is the perfect way to spend some downtime with your family, friends or other half. The team at Holiday Gems have shared with London Mums their best budget holiday resorts for Summer 2017!

Costa Brava, Spain

From £167.51pp

When it comes to holidays in the sunshine, nothing quite beats good old Costa Brava. Not only does this fabulous part of Spain have some of the most beautiful beaches in the country, it’s also only a short flight away – in most cases the flight duration is less than two and a half hours – so it’s a fantastic choice for nervous or travel sick flyers.

Why do we love Costa Brava so much? Well, with its golden sands, warm sunshine and spectacular scenery, the region is well equipped for sun worshippers wishing to top-up their tans, and adrenaline junkies wanting to try their hand at some crazy watersports.

It’s not all about the beaches though. Costa Brava is also home to some picturesque villages that make for some fantastic afternoons away from your sun lounger. Here, you’ll be able to experience some of the local traditions and sample some of the best seafood eateries in the country.

The average temperature for June in Costa Brava is around 22°C, with highs of 28°C.

Dalaman, Turkey

From £159.31pp

Dalaman is located on the southwest coast of Turkey, and is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the country. Its sandy beaches, warm seas and soaring summer temperatures are just some of the reasons why holidaymakers flock to the region in June. Due to its popularity, Dalaman has a wide selection of resorts on offer, which offer a range of different holiday experiences.

Young groups and couples will find themselves right at home in the Marmaris beach resort in the Dalaman region, where the vibrant nightlife and endless selection of bars and watersports attract partygoers from all over Europe.

There’s also a wide range of resorts and hotels that are perfect for families with young kids, or for holidaymakers looking for a quieter getaway with loved ones.

The average temperature for June in Dalaman is around 23°C, with highs of 29°C.

St Paul’s Bay, Malta

From £174.80pp

St Paul’s Bay in Malta is perfect for holidaymakers looking for a combination of sun, sea, sand and adventure. The rocky shores on the coast are great for a spot of sunbathing and wild watersports, with rock pools and snorkelling options making this a wonderful destination for family fun in the sun.

The region was originally a small fishing village, and has now developed into a bustling hub of bars, restaurants and shops. There’s loads to do here to keep little kids and big kids entertained, and adults will enjoy browsing the extravagant shops in nearby Valletta.

If you’re looking for a quieter holiday experience, consider staying in Qawra in St Paul’s Bay. Here you’ll discover a less lively way of life, with relaxed bars and cafes making this the perfect place to enjoy a peaceful escape with your other half.

Partygoers will love Bugibba, which is home to some of the region’s best nightclubs and late-night pubs and bars. Here you can party until the early hours, before spending the day relaxing on the beach.

The average temperature for St Paul’s Bay in June is 23°C, with highs of 29°C.
