Waterparks Making a Splash in Europe

Waterparks are making a Splash in Europe. If left your summer holiday decisions up to the kids, you’d probably spend 10 days whizzing down slides into a splash pool.

However, it is not such a bad idea, especially if you are looking to cool off this summer, as Europe has some of the wettest and wildest aqua parks.

The tricky part is picking which water park to go to, so we’ve asked for some seriously splash friendly advice from the team over at HolidayGems.co.uk who guarantee fun in the sun.

Costa Caribe Aquatic Park, Tarragona, Catalonia

The Caribbean themed Costa Caribe water park is part of the Port Aventura theme park. With rides suitable for kids (and big kids) of all ages, there’s something for everyone.

The rides for kids include an outdoor climbing frame surrounded by a warm and shallow pool for paddling. Life jackets are available to hire for kids who are a little bit unsure of the water.

For the adults and older kids, the water slides are fast and exciting. From the Mambo and Limbo which you tackle using a rubber ring to the Bermuda Triangle wave pool.

Siam Park, Tenerife

Known as ‘The Water Kingdom’, Siam Park is one of the better-known water parks in the Canaries. The aqua park is visited by holidaymakers from all over the island and is a very popular excursion.

Rides such as the Tower of Power where the rider free falls 90 feet, passes under a shark tank and into a pool at the end of the ride.

For the more faint hearted, there is the Mai Thai river, where riders relax on a rubber ring and float around the park.

Spending the whole day at Siam Park is easy, with rides for little kids too. There is also a great selection of restaurants and cafes for when you need a break from all of the splashing around.

The Siam Aqua Park won the ‘Best Water Park in the World’ award in 2015, beating water parks in both Florida and Dubai!

Waterparks 3

Water Park, Rhodes, Greece

This water park is built in an amphitheatre style, and is located just a short journey away from Rhodes.

The park features extreme speed slides such as the Turbo Slide, which twists and turns at high speeds around the rest of the park. There are even slides with mats, which means you can go even faster as they reduce friction.

The newest ride at the Water Park is the Boomerang family slide. A whole family can sit in a large rubber ring and enjoy the experience together.

If you need to dry off, then catch the train around the water park to relax and help you decide which water slide is next on the list!
