Disney Fantasia

A lot of mums asked me to report back from this spectacular event at the Royal Albert Hall. Well, it totally exceeded my expectations! It was highly educational as well as entertaining. Getting kids at an early age interested in music is very important. Learning and appreciating classical music is a useful skill in life.

High quality music education enables lifelong participation in, and enjoyment of, music, as well as underpinning excellence and professionalism for those who choose not to pursue a career in music.

Children from all backgrounds should have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument; to make music with others; to learn to sing; and to have the opportunity to progress to the next level of excellence.

Disney Fantasia are two films that I remember watching as a young girl in the Seventies when there weren’t DVDs or many movies at the cinema. But they are memorable to me and evoke amazing memories especially the piece with Mickey Mouse as the Wizard’s Apprentice. My 6 year old son really loved the show with screening of parts of the movies and live music performance by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. It was for me the best way to watch the movies again.

The next film with live orchestra screenings will be Singin’ in the Rain on the 8th and 9th March 2013 – you can book online at www.royalalberthall.com and/or call the box office on 020 7589 8212.
