Mumpreneur’s testimonial: Contestant from BBC’s The Apprentice 2012 Jane McEvoy launches Fresh Baby and Toddler Soups

When watching the final episodes of the Apprentice, I always wonder what these candidates will be up to next and whether they will make the most of the publicity surrounding the show. We have tracked down one of the ‘mumpreneurial’ candidates: After a busy start to the year starring on BBC’s The Apprentice, Irish mum Jane McEvoy, 29, introduces Harry’s Little World, a range of 100% organic, fresh baby and toddler soups that are free from common allergens.

The meal options will be sold through Ocado from August 2012 and are available in four flavours:  Tomato & Lentil, Fresh Garden Vegetable (both suitable for babies 6-12 months old), Fresh Vegetable Soup, and Fresh Chicken & Vegetable (both suitable for babies and toddlers over 12 months old).

Harry’s Little World soups use only premium organic ingredients and contain no added salt or sugar.  The production methods ensure a healthier, more nutritious meal for babies and toddlers.   The soups are free from common allergens in response to the large rise in reported food intolerances amongst children, offering parents peace of mind.

Harry’s Little World was inspired by Jane’s four year old son, Harry.  Jane and her husband, Gary, who developed the recipes, feel strongly that children should eat a diet based on fresh food, as opposed to the vast range of ambient products dominating the shelves: ‘The shelf life of an ambient baby food product is anywhere from one year as a result of gas flushing,’ added Jane, ‘whereas our product lasts 20 days from production.  Our methods are simple; we preserve the food through our cooking, filling, and cooling process.

‘Harry’s Little World provides the healthiest alternative to home cooked meals for babies and toddlers.  Being a mum I find soups one of the easiest ways of getting vegetables into small children.’

The soups are specially designed for babies and toddlers, not adults, so they won’t run off the spoon; they have been finely homogenised to be much more viscous than an adult soup.
